In our preschool:
Our Circle Room is where children can play with games, blocks and a variety of toys. They may also dress up, act on our stage, fill containers with sand or wood chips at one of our sensory tables, pound a nail into a piece of wood at our carpentry table, and/or visit our class pet Zebra finches, Rosie and Quin. Our Circle Room is also where our arts and crafts table is located. The children are free to paint, fingerpaint or create their own art or work on a craft that relates to the theme. Our math center is here as well with puzzles, games, and a light table.
Our Snack Room is where children can play in our pretend house and grocery store, read in the library, climb in our loft or sit down to make and have a nutritious snack. Our science counter is located here where they can visit our pet tarantula, Chewie, and check on our newly hatched chicks, besides investigating bones, leaves, rocks or magnets.
Our Climbing Room is a place where children can climb and slide on our play structures and pretend to be a firefighter in our fire truck. There are hoses to put out fires besides a jet plane to go on many adventures. There are blocks in this room too along with a magnetic board for marble tracks and gears. This is one of our most popular rooms!
For Outside or Gym Time the children can ride tricycles, scooters or dribble balls, play tag, or climb on our beautiful outdoor play structure. During this time, half of the working parents will meet with the Teacher for a discussion about parenting.
At Circle Time we sing songs, have felt-board stories, do movement activities (we do the Brain Dance from Creative Dance Center) and sharing related to the letter of the alphabet or topic that we are studying that particular week. Then, just as we greeted each other at the beginning of the school day, we sing the goodbye song and say farewell until we meet again.
