Our Teachers

Jessica Gesinger, Director/Teacher (Discoverers, Imagineers, Inventors, Dragonflies)

Jessica has been a co-op preschool teacher since 2009. Prior to teaching at SCPHeadshot of Teacher Jessica, she was a co-op preschool parent for six years, and an elementary school teacher (grades K-3) for six years.

She completed her undergraduate degree at The Evergreen State College, and received her Teaching Certificate and Master of Arts in Education at Antioch University in Seattle. Jessica has also been the director of SCP since 2015.

Jessica loves working with young children and their parents. She is a strong believer in the power of co-op preschools to build community, strengthen families, and support social, creative, and cognitive growth in children. Jessica lives in Shoreline with her husband Mark and their two daughters.

Lesley Rippee, Teacher (Adventurers)

Lesley has worked as a co-op teacher and parent educator since 2013. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Boise State University and her Master’s from Western Washington University. Prior to teaching in co-ops, Lesley worked as an elementary and early childhood music specialist at several schools in the Seattle area. She discovered co-ops when her own 2 daughters were young and loves that she can now help other families build stronger relationships within a loving, supportive community.

Chris Blackstone, Outdoor Teacher (Imagineers & Inventors)

Chris has been a member of the SCP community since 2014, first as a parent and board member and now as an outdoor teacher for the Imagineers and Inventors classes.

She received a Bachelor’s degreChris Blackstone headshote from Hamilton College. Chris has taught piano to children since 1999, and has led numerous Program for Early Parent Support (PEPS) groups. She cares deeply about the community at SCP and supports parents and children alike. She lives in Shoreline with her husband, Grant, and daughter, Ren.
